DTA 551-REZ macro differential thermal analysis
Macro differential thermal analysis is used for testing of energetic and reactive materials with sample weights of several grams.
Differential thermal analysis (DTA) as a method is applied for evaluation of thermal stability of explosive materials, their purity (melting point, solidification point), compatibility and thermal decomposition parameters. It is used in quality control of manufactured explosives, characterization and qualification of new explosives, surveillance of in-service explosives, R&D and many other testing programs. DTA 551 REZ is a modification of DTA 551-Ex developed specifically for testing of samples with a mass of several grams. It is intended for substances that decompose less violently during thermal explosion (without detonation). It is however possible to use this device for measurement of propellants, pyrotechnic mixtures or explosive materials especially when studying thermal explosion parameters. It is capable of measurements of liquids or foaming substances.
